WHAT WE (WISH) WE WANT

In our course of living, we often chose to travel various different paths – wandering alone or accompanied – towards what we like or dislike. And the journey starts with us choosing a path to a place that we either want to or wish to see.

But, sometimes what we want and what we wish we would want are two very different things. They are like two minds of the same being. And if one reflects us … what does the other do?
If we talk about wishes - don't they also do the same thing?

Sometimes if you are lucky, then yes both the paths meet at some place eventually… otherwise I fear they may lead us very far off from where we always wanted to be.

So why would our wishes drive us apart from what we want?

… It maybe because sometimes - we lie. We lie to ourselves and so we lie to the world. We try to disguise we want into what we wish to want. And then we try to carry it along, all the way long – all our lifetimes and sometimes also forgetting that it is just a disguise and nothing more. We try to like it, love it, and make it our life. We wear the disguise ourselves – day in and day out.

Until of course there comes a day, when we wake up and fail to recognize ourselves. The reflection staring back at us is not our reflection at all – the place we have reached is not the place we wanted to reach at all! That is the day, when we are forced to travel back and trace the path - to all the disguises we have worn - and take them off - one by one.

Slowly peeling them off … slowly revealing ourselves.

Feeling new again. Free of everything else. Just ourselves.
Ready to start again.

GETTING OVER

What is it that we need to help us let go or ‘get over’ a situation?
Is it …
  •        Lots of music
  •        Some time alone
  •        Sleep
  •        Maybe a little swearing
  •        Exercise – just a rush of endorphin
  •        A vent
  •        Someone to coax us
  •        Pep talks
  •      Loads and loads of thinking

… and many more things: we all have our personal and highly customized list of these things which  form the vital ingredients to help us through the process of ‘getting over'.

But, what is the recipe?
All of us have walked this course, but who knows of the recipe?

It just so happens that while we are busy mixing and churning the ingredients to get the perfect mix, the recipe just takes place and we do not know when or how?

Maybe it was that moment of realization, or maybe we just got tired of mixing! Though, whatever it was we are just relieved that the churning stopped after all! The relief simply outweighs the process such that we wish not to look back.

It’s just us – the stillness – and the relief!

UNWRITTEN . UNSPOKEN

There are some letters.
Unwritten.
Unspoken.

For the fear of being read.
By you.
Moreover, by me.

And,
For what they might bring.
For what they might resurface.
For what they might expose.

The thoughts buried deep inside.
The expectations.
The reasons.
The answers.
And many more questions: unavoidable - unanswerable.

Maybe therefore,
Some letters are better
Unwritten.
Unspoken.

VICTORY

‘Victory’ I think is best enjoyed when it is independent. Free from anything that might influence it even minutely, may it be other beings or situations.

Winning over someone is a victory dependent on the capabilities of someone else while winning over a situation is a victory dependent on the presence of the situation itself. The later is a position above only for the fact that it gives us the opportunity of moving towards a better situation.

While winning over what WE WERE to become what WE ARE is a 'Victory' in true sense - independent of any situation or being. A victory which is truly and purely ours.

In order to enjoy such victory we have to stop making others’ achievements our ambitions. We need to start setting goals – OUR goals – and pour our heart and soul in fulfilling them. Moreover, we need to stop waiting for life to present us with situations and opportunities to win.

We must take control. We must live each day as if to win over yesterday!
